First appearing in print in 1890, the character of Sherlock Holmes has now become synonymous worldwide with the concept of a super sleuth. His creator, Conan Doyle, imbued his detective hero with intellectual power, acute observational abilities, a penchant for deductive reasoning and a highly educated use of forensic skills. Indeed, Doyle created the first fictional private detective who used what we now recognize as modern scientific investigative techniques.

Doyle ended up writing four novels and 56 short stories featuring Holmes and his companion, Dr. Watson. All but four are told in the first person by Watson, two by Holmes, and two are written in the third person. Together, this series of beautifully written Victorian literature has sold more copies than any other books in the English language, with the exceptions of the Bible and Shakespeare.

Volume 1 in this series consists of two novels, A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of Four, followed by a collection of short stories entitled The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.

Volume 2 in this series consists of one novel, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and two collections of short stories, which include "Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes" and "The Return of Sherlock Holmes" (a total of 23 stories). These creations by Doyle represent the finest work of his Holmes series, and certainly the most famous. They are reproduced here (and in all volumes) in the order in which they were first published.

Written by well-known authors, these chapters offer practical advice on topics as varied as writer's block, dialog, genre writing, book contracts, and even how to kill off characters. Then, an interview section features interviews with authors such as Wally Lamb, Sue Miller, and Doris Lessing. The second half of the book lists markets for all kinds of writing--articles, fiction, drama, and books--along with helpful information about literary prizes, writer's colonies, writer's conferences, and literary agents. Some of this material covers the same territory as The Writer's Market (F&W Pub., annual), which generally has more and longer listings; for the most part, The Writer's Handbook does not list telephone numbers, FAX numbers, or URLs, providing readers only with U.S. mail addresses. And while the markets are indexed, other aspects of the book are not. But, quibbles aside, this handbook packs a lot of useful information into one volume and should be of use to beginning, intermediate, and freelance writers. In diesem Report wird vor allem Orientierung geboten. Welche Möglichkeiten der Social Media Nutzung gibt es? Wo findet man relevante Informationen und wie filtert und organisiert man diese? Wie verhält man sich richtig und wie vermeidet man Fehler. Diese und viele weitere Fragen werden übergreifend für alle Social Media Genres (Soziale Netzwerke, Blogs, Content Communities usw.) umfassend beantwortet.
Angereichert mit anschaulichen Erklärungen, Beispielen anderer Unternehmen und unterlegt mit Fakten und Statistiken werden Unsicherheiten aus der Welt geschaffen und Fragen beantwortet. Aus meiner Sicht bleiben nach dem Lesen keine Fragen mehr offen für Jemanden der gerne im Bereich Social Media Marketing tätig werden möchte.

Einziges Manko, ich persönlich hätte mir für meine Bachelorarbeit eine genauere Quellenangabe gewünscht. Sonst top.
